We’re a small family farm in Fredericksburg, Virginia sharing our goats with the community and working with nature instead of against it. From eco-friendly brush clearing to freeze-dried pet treats and farm-fresh products, everything we do is rooted in sustainability, stewardship, and happy animals.

At The Good Steward Farm, we believe agriculture should feel personal again. We care deeply about our animals, the land they work on, and the people we serve.
Our landscaping goats clear unwanted brush naturally without chemicals or heavy equipment. Our pet treats turn unused animal parts like chicken heads and pork hearts from local partner farms into nutritious snacks dogs absolutely lose their minds over. Our soaps, lotions, milk, eggs, and farm products are all created with the same mindset: use what you have, waste as little as possible, and do things the right way.
And yes — we are licensed and insured. We’re not dropping off a few skinny goats and disappearing for a week. We check on them daily, care for them constantly, and genuinely love what we do.

That’s where the goats come in. We use portable fencing and solar-powered systems to safely manage our herd while they clear unwanted vegetation naturally. No chemicals. No giant machinery tearing up your property. Just hardworking goats doing what goats do best. And unlike some folks, we care for our herd every single day while they’re on-site.
Freeze-Dried Pet Treats
Single Ingredient. Locally Sourced. Dog Approved.
We partner with local farms to create freeze-dried pet treats using responsibly sourced ingredients that would otherwise go to waste. Beef heart, pork liver, chicken heads — if your dog could write reviews, they’d leave five stars.
